The Bijrani Tourist Zone is one of the most popular areas of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, known for its rich variety of flora and fauna. With its dense Sal forests, vast grasslands, and scenic landscapes, Bijrani offers a wildlife experience that rivals the famous Dhikala Zone. Its serene and peaceful environment makes it a favorite among nature lovers and wildlife photographers. Most importantly, Bijrani is considered one of the tiger-rich areas of Corbett, giving visitors a higher chance of spotting the majestic predator.
Bijrani Forest Rest House Information
📍 Location & Route
Entry to Bijrani is through the Amdanda Gate. From there, it’s a 12 km drive (30–40 minutes) in a 4WD vehicle to reach the Bijrani Forest Rest House. This route passes through undulating forest terrain, offering excellent chances of wildlife sightings.
🌤 Temperature & Weather
November – March: Cold mornings and evenings, with pleasant afternoons.
April – 15th June: Pleasant mornings and evenings, but afternoons get hot. Most visitors prefer safaris during afternoons rather than staying inside the rest house.
🦺 Safety
The rest house is surrounded by solar fencing to keep wild animals away. Walking is allowed only inside the fenced compound. Accommodation is permanent masonry structures—no tents or mud cottages are available.

Restaurant and Canteen
The Bijrani Forest Rest House has a canteen facility for meals and beverages. Apart from breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the canteen also serves tea, coffee, and snacks. All meals are vegetarian and served as per canteen timings.
Room Type & In-room Facilities
There are three different room categories available:
- Single Bed
- Double Bed
- Four Bedded Room
All rooms are naturally ventilated, without any electrical appliances like air-conditioners or fans. Wooden beds are provided as per occupancy. During the day, windows provide natural light, while at night, LED lamps are used. There is no intercom facility.
All rooms have attached washrooms, and the forest department provides bath linen and soap.
Jeep and Elephant Back Safari
Guests staying at the rest house can enjoy morning and evening jeep and elephant safaris in the Bijrani range. Each jeep accommodates up to 6 members, while up to 4 people can ride on an elephant. After Dhikala, Bijrani is the only rest house offering elephant-back safaris for guests.
