About Dhikala Zone
Dhikala is Corbett’s most famous core zone – a vast amphitheatre of grasslands, Sal forests and the Ramganga River where every safari feels like a scene from a wildlife documentary.
Staying and driving here is for travelers who want a truly wild experience: long valley views, real predator–prey drama and some of the highest tiger and elephant sighting potential in Corbett.
Safari Experience
Your safari into Dhikala begins the moment you cross Dhangarhi Gate and enter kilometres of undisturbed forest tracks, river crossings and watchtowers.
Expect unhurried gypsy drives with our experienced drivers and naturalists, focusing on reading tracks and alarm calls, waiting at productive meadows and enjoying the changing light across the valley.
Dhikala Forest Lodge
Dhikala Forest Lodge sits right on the edge of the valley, with views over the Ramganga and grasslands that few other places in India can match.
Rooms are simple but atmospheric, and the real luxury is stepping out of your room into the heart of the core zone for your morning and evening safaris.
Best Time to Visit
Dhikala is open from mid‑November to mid‑June, with misty, cool mornings in winter and hotter, drier days from March onwards.
Photography, birding and landscapes are excellent throughout, while late winter and summer often bring more concentrated wildlife around water sources.
How to Reach
All Dhikala safaris start from Ramnagar, the gateway town to Corbett.
From here, we drive you through Dhangarhi Gate and deep into the forest, a journey of roughly 31 km to reach Dhikala campus.
