About Dhikala Zone
Dhikala is Corbett’s most famous core zone – a vast amphitheatre of grasslands, Sal forests and the Ramganga River where every safari feels like a scene from a wildlife documentary.
Staying and driving here is for travelers who want a truly wild experience: long valley views, real predator–prey drama and some of the highest tiger and elephant sighting potential in Corbett.
Canter Safari Experience
Your safari into Dhikala begins as you cross Dhangarhi Gate and enter kilometres of undisturbed forest tracks, river crossings, and watchtowers, where unhurried canter safaris led by experienced drivers and naturalists focus on reading tracks and alarm calls, waiting at productive meadows, and appreciating the changing light across the valley.
Dhikala Forest Lodge
Dhikala Forest Lodge is set on the edge of the valley, offering sweeping views over the Ramganga River and surrounding grasslands that few places in India can match, while the rooms remain simple yet atmospheric, with the true luxury being direct access to the core zone for your morning and evening safaris.
Best Time to Visit
Dhikala is open from mid-November to mid-June, with cool, misty mornings in winter and hotter, drier conditions from March onwards, while photography, birding, and landscapes remain rewarding throughout, and late winter to summer often sees more concentrated wildlife activity around water sources.
How to Reach
All Dhikala safaris begin from Ramnagar, the gateway town to Corbett, from where we take you through Dhangarhi Gate and deep into the forest, covering a journey of approximately 31 km to reach the Dhikala campus.
